About Us

Refuge Waco is a faith based non-profit that seeks to provide innovative solutions to the current gaps in foster care by addressing the immediate needs of at risk youth through mentorship, housing, education and awareness. “He will cover you with his feathers and under His wings you will find refuge.” Psalm 91:4 We believe that Jesus is the Son of God, sent to earth to atone for the sins of mankind and through Him we have salvation, peace, healing and eternal life.

We believe that Gods grace is sufficient for all people and as an organization we are accepting and affirming. We do not discriminate based on gender, age, race or orientation. We believe and practice that there is room at the table for all. We believe in a lifestyle and culture of faith, walking out the daily practices that Jesus preached, and our ultimate practice is LOVE.

Our Programs

Youth Mentorship

Launched in September of 2018, the Refuge Waco mentorship program pairs at-risk youth with caring, trauma-informed mentors to provide a consistent, stable influence in their lives, & assist them in life skills training and preparation for adulthood. Our monthly “Connect” events provide a safe place for training and education as well as a ton of fun!

Are you interested in volunteering with us, sponsoring a Connect night, would like to sign a child up for the program, or need more information/ dates for the program? Please email us!

Community Education

One way that Refuge Waco seeks to educate the community is through speaking engagements and foster care awareness events. We are always seeking groups or organizations to allow us to come speak, and community groups (such as churches, clubs, etc) to host us for foster care awareness events. We believe in empowering and equipping the community in order to help individuals get involved in various ways, so that we, collectively, can combat the current foster care crisis.
